Best Buy Clerk Accused Of Stealing Over $ 4,000 Worth Of Electronics From Store

MOUNT PLEASANT – A Best Buy employee was accused of stealing from the electronics store worth over $ 4,000.

Victor Manuel Gomez Jr., 20, from the 1800 block of Howe Street, was charged with intentionally $ 500 to $ 5,000 retail theft.

According to a criminal complaint:

On Thursday, the agents were sent to Best Buy, 2710 Green Bay Road, because an employee reported stealing the returned items.

Officers spoke to a Best Buy loss prevention agent who claimed Gomez was filmed stealing items returned to Best Buy between March 30 and April 13. The officer was provided with video of the thefts and the man told him that the stolen items were Airpods, Beats headphones, and an Apple Watch worth a total of $ 4,001.10.

Gomez was arrested and the loss prevention officer provided a written confession from Gomez. He admitted selling the stolen items to others.

Gomez received a $ 500 cash bond from Racine County Circuit Court on Friday. A preliminary hearing will be held May 25 at the Racine County Law Enforcement Center, 717 Wisconsin Ave., according to online court records.
