With the launch of Accelq Live, business users will be able to build code-free apps using their favorite cloud native platforms, and the platform will reduce testing complexity by automatically updating as these platforms are updated. This takes the burden off development teams of keeping up with code-free app platforms when updating to make sure patches don’t disrupt testing.

Users will also have access to pre-built code-free automation test assets modeled on business processes designed to work in multicloud environments. This makes it even easier for business users to create their own apps without code and then modify the tests to fit them using Live.

Code-free and low-code app development platforms have grown significantly in recent years, reaching global market revenue of $ 13 billion in 2020, according to Statista, and the market is expected to reach $ 65 billion. by 2027. The trend is believed to be largely driven by how these tools allow anyone, regardless of technical skills, to engage in app development, which includes design, implementation and distribution.

Although low-code and no-code app development frameworks have proliferated, Alladi explained that low-code test automation lagged behind. This has created a skills gap and significantly slows down the speed of development when it comes to preparing tests and ensuring the quality of the code as it is published. It also means that test automation has become a “specialist feature” that takes developer time away from other things, such as building more functionality into a platform.

“Test automation has traditionally been an intensive programming exercise,” Alladi said. “And you need advanced programming skills to automate the complex interactions offered by modern cloud apps. In addition to that, the constant changes and updates introduced by enterprise cloud apps will mean that test scripts need heavy maintenance. “

Alladi said reducing the complexity of test automation by providing hundreds of pre-built modular components will help abstract most of what is stopping users from gaining momentum. To make it even more accessible, the test resources are managed in plain English, using the business process language.

“This problem didn’t require just another code-less automation test tool,” Alladi said. “It needed a primarily different approach that exploited the best of both worlds of code-less automation but at the same time based on a design-first approach where the result is sustainable and robust.”
