POTENZA collaborates with HNB to facilitate the automation of robotic processes for traditional banking – L’isola

POTENZA, the Sri Lanka-based global business technology consulting group, recently announced a historic partnership with Hatton National Bank (HNB), as the official implementation partner, to facilitate and support the bank on its process automation journey robotic. As a first step, POTENZA is managing the implementation of HNB’s “SWIFT Messages Extraction and Integration” process, which is a critical process for HNB’s import / export business transactions.

A pioneer in RPA, POTENZA first introduced the technology to Sri Lanka in 2018. Since then, it has established itself as the leading RPA consulting firm in Sri Lanka, with a global footprint, including supporting organizations with the Sri Lanka’s most comprehensive software bot pool. Worldwide, POTENZA has automated more than 60 automated process chains in a variety of industries in 9 countries.

Announcing the partnership, Dhanusha Muthukumarana – MD / CEO of POTENZA (Private) Limited said: “We are very pleased to announce this partnership with one of Sri Lanka’s most respected financial institutions. We look forward to supporting HNB on their RPA journey. Since many commercial and industrial processes are repetitive, RPA can therefore reduce human intervention in these processes by increasing efficiency and reducing both errors and costs. This in turn helps deliver better and smoother services to customers. Most importantly, it allows companies to better distribute and use their human capital, assigning people to positions that actually require human intervention, which is often also much more fulfilling and engaging for people. Therefore, RPA creates a win-win situation for companies, customers and employees, while also pushing trade and industry towards Industry 4.0, which is the future. “

In terms of quantifiable results, POTENZA’s first implementation of RPA at HNB resulted in an increase in productivity of approximately 68%, while also improving accuracy.

Commenting on the benefits of the implementation, Ms. L Chiranthi Cooray – Chief Human Resources Officer / Chief Transformation Officer of HNB said: “The RPA implementation enables the automation of repetitive processes that are ubiquitous in banks. The implementation in the Trade function has increased the bandwidth of the staff through efficiency increases, allowing them to carry out activities with greater added value at the service of the Bank’s trade customers ”.
